Spirit Level Youth Construction, based in Lambeth provides training programmes in (12) of the most sought-after construction trades, leading to qualifications, apprenticeships and improved employment prospects for BAME young men aged (16–24), who are not currently in any form of education, employment or training (NEETs).
Construction is one of London's fastest-growing industries — but young Black males are chronically underrepresented. SLYC is changing that. We provide accredited training, apprenticeship, and future employer pathways for (16–24) year olds in Lambeth who are not in education, employment, or training.
Grouped with construction industry professionals already working in construction. Trainees receive real guidance from expert trainers who understand our service-users.
Direct connections to London-wide contractors, developers and employers looking to hire in the near future are actively being sought.
